First of all, think of a theme - as if you were going to fill a gift basket for someone you care about.

Next, make a list of 12 items connected to that theme that you could put in the basket. It doesn’t matter how expensive they are, or how impossible they would be to actually obtain, or even the physical improbability of fitting them into a basket. Just list the 12 best theme-related items that you can think of.

Now the fun part!
Think of the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and see if you can fit your twelve items in place of the twelve traditional gifts! You may have to rethink some of your items, or even replace them with others, but with a little creativity you’ll have a great Christmas poem to give to someone who means a lot to you - even if you can’t give them the "Academy Award" or "strings of pearls" in your song!
