Second in the week of preparation exercises for those participating in, or thinking about joining in, the NaNo challenge.

What are you going to write about? Write about it. Can you reduce it to a single sentence beginning with “My Nano Novel will be about….”

If you are still undecided. Write down a simple paragraph of possibilities that come to mind when thinking of selecting your project. Which one of them starts to call out to your muse the most? Can you develop that paragraph a little further until it becomes a rough outline of a novel - if you can identify a beginning, a middle and an end, then you’re off to a great start! Then, see if you can reduce this outline to a single sentence beginning “My Nano Novel will be about..”
