The storyline: Your city born and bred (and much pampered) protagonist has to visit an elderly relative who lives in a basic cabin up in the mountains. She’ll require an overnight stay.

The challenge: Write a short story, or excerpt, or even an essay which shows the differences in lifestyles, the difficulties, frustrations and perhaps even anxieties (potential for broken fingernails here! hahaha) the protagonist feels, the manner in which her elderly relative welcomes her, and how the protagonist feels when the visit is over …relieved, sad, changed….or not? Your decision!
