Writing often means that you have to describe things which to you are second nature, but may not be to the reader. This morning’s exercise is about writing about describing how to do something that’s commonplace – but is it as easy to explain as it is to do?
Today describe how you brush your teeth. No, not how many times and why you should do this, but the physical action of brushing your teeth. How do you do it? Read it back aloud and if possible, follow the steps you describe. Did you get it right? Or do you need to edit it a little?
