Look who’s talking!
In a novel, dialogue is often a good way to show the age range of your characters. Try this out with the following exercise:
Write a dialogue scene where 2 teenages decide to go to the movies and discuss what they want to see.
Now, write the same scene, but with 2 middle-aged characters.
Consider not only the movies that they would want to see, but also the language that they would use.
