Use the following as the basis of a scene.

Your protagonist is a teenager who wants to work overseas during the summer vacation.  Write the scene, complete with dialogue, in which they discuss this with their parents.  Keep the “show not tell” rule in mind when thinking about the reaction of the parents, and how your protagonist reacts to this.
