Write an opinion based essay - or a letter to the editor of your local paper if you prefer - that says what you think about Reality TV. Is it getting too much? Was it always too much? Can you not get enough of it? What do you really think about Reality TV?
Use the following 10 words in a short piece of fiction or non-fiction. The theme is up to you, the word order is your decision. The only rule is that you must use all 10 words.
Set your timer, clock or watch for 15 minutes, write the title "Fleeting Memories" at the top of your page and start writing. Take whatever path the title takes you - the fun thing about this kind of exercise is that you sometimes end up in unfamiliar territory and that’s great for expanding creativity!
What relaxes you the most? Describe the ultimate in personal relaxation.
Use any of the following as the starting point for a piece of fiction/non-fiction.
This morning we’re having a timed exercise. Get your alarms set for 10 minutes, write “Robbed” at the top of your page and write whatever comes to mind. When the 10 minutes goes off, read over what you’ve wrote. Is it just an exercise? Or is there something in there that sparks off your creativity?
Think of a situation or experience that you’ve had in your life - there’s the factual part. Now write about it as if it were happening to a character in a story - becoming fact based fiction.
You can write anything you like, in any context, but your writing must incorporate the following 3 elements:
What was your favorite school subject? Why? Are you still interested in this kind of topic?
