Use any of the following to start a piece of fiction or non-fiction.
Listen to any piece of instrumental music (you’ll find plenty on the Internet if you don’t have any of your own). Close your eyes as you listen. When it’s finished, write a journal entry about how the music made you feel, any images that had come into your mind as you listened, and any possible story line that you may have thought of as the music played.

There’s a lot being said about the environment and the negative effect that we as a society are creating on it. Who do you think is responsible for trying to stop things getting worse as we work out a way to reverse the situation? Who do you think should pay for it? Write an essay about your thoughts about who you think needs to be doing something about the environmental issues, and who ought to pay for it.
What’s your favorite hobby or interest? How do you spend whatever free-time you have (and I mean free-time, as in time when you’re not doing the chores you do once the working day is over and the kids are finally asleep!).

We all have opinions, and experiences that make us feel an emotion, but how clearly can you write so that others feel this emotion?
Use all of the following words in a piece of fiction or non-fiction
Life is full of changes. Some for the better. Some not. Most of them unexpected.
This morning write a piece of fiction where an unexpected change sends your protagonist down a completely different path to what you had originally thought. Alternatively, if fiction isn’t your thing, write about a specific change that made an impact on your own life.
