Opinion essay required this morning

Almost every day at least once we find unsolicited mail dumped into our mailboxes or through letterboxes.  Write an essay about your thoughts on this - do you enjoy receiving it, do you like some of it but complain about most of it, or do you think its a misuse of natural resources?  Write about what you think about the amount of junk mail you receive.

There are things in our lives that we avoid wherever possible.  Sometimes this can be to protect ourselves from being hurt either physically or emotionally, other times avoiding issues could be also called procrastination.  Make a list of the top 3 things you “avoid” and then write about why you avoid them.

Looking for opinions in today’s exercise.

What do you think is most important – how much money a person has in order to campaign to lead a country, or whether they have a good policy and the courage to carry out their campaign promises? Is too much emphasis put on money? Are issues lost under the counting of dollars? Write an opinion piece as if for your local newspaper.

Well J.K. Rowling has inflicted a major blow to low income families this summer - offering both a new movie and the final book in the series within weeks of each other.  Like Harry, or loathe him, you’re bound to have heard his name.  Write a letter to your local paper giving your opinion on the hype that surrounds this children’s fictional character.
