Your character has a phobia.  She can’t even say the word orange, and a citric smell makes her feel sick. She  finds herself on a plane sitting next to someone starting to peel a large orange.  What does she do?  What does she say?  Write a scene.

Describe a piece of fruit using as many of the senses as you can - don’t mention the kind of fruit in the writing exercise.  Read back your description, can someone guess what you are writing about without knowing in advance what it is?
